What women say about learning with Proseva
We let participants speak for themselves. Below are their words — honest, varied and written after completing their programmes.

Across all three programmes and five years of cohorts — a selection of what participants have shared with us.
Farah Hana binti Zainal
HR Executive, Petaling Jaya
I joined the community workshop because a colleague kept talking about it. I honestly expected something dry. What I got was a room full of women who asked exactly the questions I'd been afraid to ask, and a facilitator who answered them without a hint of judgement. I walked away with a budget I actually started using.

Lim Wei Ling
Secondary school teacher, Cheras
The five-week course changed how I think about my monthly payslip. I'd been glancing at it for years without properly understanding what I was looking at. Week two — the statement literacy session — was genuinely eye-opening. By week four I was tracking my spending in a way that didn't feel like a punishment.

Nanthini Arumugam
Small business owner, Bangsar
I was managing my business finances entirely on instinct. The complete programme helped me separate my personal and business money thinking in a way that just made sense. The three months of group support afterwards was also genuinely useful — I had questions that kept coming up as I applied things in real life.

Rozana binti Othman
Nurse, Hospital Kuala Lumpur
Shift work means my income is slightly irregular, which always made me feel like standard budgeting advice didn't apply to me. Proseva's approach was flexible enough to accommodate that. The facilitator helped me work out a system based on my actual pattern. Small group size made it possible to get that kind of attention.

Sharifah Tun Aishah
Freelance designer, Damansara
As a freelancer I have months where income is patchy and months where it's fine. The workbook from the community workshop is still on my desk. I use the monthly template every time a new project comes in to decide what I can reasonably set aside. It sounds simple, but having a proper system finally made a difference.

Chua Yee Shan
Accountant, KLCC
I work in finance professionally, so I came with some scepticism. What Proseva does well is the community element — it's genuinely different from anything work-related. Talking through real household situations with other women, without any agenda behind it, was something I hadn't realised I needed. The peer circle kept things going between sessions too.

What the learning looked like in practice
Three brief case studies from different programme types — showing how participants started, what they worked on and what shifted for them.
Mardiana binti Hassan
Mother of two, returning to work · Subang Jaya
Starting point
Mardiana had been out of paid work for four years looking after her children. When she returned to employment, she found her sense of her own finances had become foggy — she wasn't confident reading her new payslip and had no system for managing two incomes in the household.
What she worked on
Mardiana enrolled in the five-week Money Confidence Course. Over the five sessions she worked through payslip literacy, built a joint household budget with her husband and used the peer circle to talk through the practical challenges of managing irregular childcare costs.
What shifted
Three months after completing the course, Mardiana reported that she was reviewing the family budget monthly with confidence and had started putting aside a small, consistent amount each month — something she said had felt impossible before.
Kavitha d/o Palaniappan
Graduate, first job · Kuala Lumpur
Starting point
Six months into her first graduate job, Kavitha found that she consistently ran out of money before the end of the month. She knew she was spending on things she didn't need, but the standard advice — "just make a budget" — hadn't led anywhere.
What she worked on
Kavitha joined the community workshop first, then went on to the five-week course the following month. The workshop gave her a workable framework; the course helped her understand the habits behind her spending patterns and build more intentional routines.
What shifted
By week three of the course, Kavitha noted she had stopped making unplanned purchases in the first week after payday. She described the change as less about restriction and more about understanding where she wanted her money to go.
Zarina binti Abdul Hamid
Self-employed caterer · Shah Alam
Starting point
Zarina had been running her catering business for three years but kept her personal and business spending in the same account. Month to month she never knew if the business was covering its own costs or whether she was subsidising it from personal funds.
What she worked on
Zarina enrolled in the Complete Money Empowerment Programme. The self-paced modules let her move through the business-adjacent content at a pace that worked around her irregular catering schedule. The three months of group support meant she could return with questions as situations arose.
What shifted
Zarina separated her accounts two weeks into the programme. She described the support period as the most valuable part — having people to check in with as she tested what she'd learned in real situations made the difference between applying the learning and letting it sit.
